What bothers me most, when watching some episodes back-to-back is that the FBI actors, in the end, seem to arbitrarily fluctuate between self righteous, justifiable homicide and empathetic remorse after killing the suspect – even though they were all serial killers. In your experience, do people in your line of work really distinguish between ‘unfortunate’ serial killers and ‘evil’ serial killers? If so, is it a scientific distinction or just a matter of personal relevance?
