Episode 183 – American Gladiator Dan Nitro Clark Seizes Life
Dan Nitro Clark is a former pro football player, American Gladiator, #1 Bestselling Author, TV Host, Entrepreneur, and Speaker. He began his career as an athlete, where he played football for San Jose State University as a standout defensive lineman. Dan then later went on to play briefly for the Los Angeles Rams in the NFL, as well as also playing in the Professional European League.
The Gladiator Way
Dan made himself a new life as a health and fitness expert, and he is perhaps best known from his appearances on the TV game show American Gladiators. This is where he played the iconic gladiator “Nitro” for several seasons. The show then ran in syndication, with over 10 million weekly viewers and it would also air in over 40 countries.
For Nitro there really was a life after American Gladiators. He turned to acting, and he later appeared in such motion pictures as Death Becomes Her (with Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis) and Equilibrium (with Christian Bale). Dan also guest starred in TV series that included Ellen, Walker, Texas Ranger, V.I.P., Married… with Children, Who's the Boss?, and Saved by the Bell.
Nitro has made appearances on Good Morning America, The Early Show, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, ESPN, EXTRA, People, Time Magazine, Esquire, Men’s Health, Sport’s Illustrated, and the Huffington Post. After he suffered a major heart attack Dan rebuilt his own life and now he also helps to inspire others, to do the same.
