In this special Christmas episode I am joined by my lovely wife, Leslie Smail. We interview the singer / songwriter Janine de Souza who wrote and performed one of Leslie's all-time Christmas songs.

She has also written and produced a musical (“Brand New Day”). Janine lead and founded a Jazz band while working as a Kindermusik. As well as while working as a music teacher for at musical theater summer camp and for an elementary school.

She received her Associate’s Degree in Business from Broome Community College, and she also received her Bachelor’s in Professional Music from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.  Janine was later awarded a Songwriting Scholarship while she attended Berklee. She now writes in several different music genres: Country, Pop, Rock, and Children’s music. She is currently co-writing numerous Sync songs for ads, film, and TV.  Her goal is always the same though creating music that will move people both emotionally and authentically.

Her original songs have also been performed in and around the Boston area. According to Beverly Creasey, a prominent Boston theater critic for IRNE (Independent Reviewers of New England), “… de Souza’s songs are infectious, smart, and versatile….”
