Episode 200 – Dana Ridenour from FBI Undercover Agent to Author
Dana Ridenour is a retired FBI agent and she is also the author of three novels: Behind The Mask, Beyond The Cabin, and Below The Radar. Before joining the FBI she spent two years at the University of Kentucky, where she decided to change her major to Police Administration. She then transferred to Eastern Kentucky University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1989. She would also earn her Juris Doctor from Chase College of Law in 1992.
Dana has worked in a wide variety of jobs that also include being a first mate on a tour boat (her favorite job), a lawyer, and then becoming a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Dana began her duties with the FBI in November of 1995 and later retired in April of 2016 after serving over twenty years in the FBI. During this time she was assigned to four different FBI Field Divisions. Where she would also have the opportunity to work a wide variety of cases. These included a number of multi faceted narcotics investigations, domestic sex trafficking of minors as well as violent crimes.
Dana was a proud member of the FBI's Evidence Response Team that also traveled to New York City in response to the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. The highlight of her career would come in 2003 when she attended and also passed the FBI's prestigious undercover school. Her undercover certification would open the door for her to work a series of long term, deep cover cases that focused on domestic terrorism. Dana also had the rare experience of being able to work a long term undercover investigation with her husband. Who was also an FBI agent at the same time.
Dana Ridenour has become an award winning author and she now lives in Beaufort, South Carolina with her husband. She is currently writing her fourth novel. We hope you enjoy this intriguing look into the life and times of female former FBI agent turned author!
