Robert Barnes was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was born into a family that richly defended peoples' rights and his grandfathers also refused a form of government that did not have a bill of rights. Barnes attended and graduated from The McCallie School a boys college-preparatory school. He completed his undergraduate at the University of Tennessee. He left the prestigious Yale Law School because they publicly stated their unwillingness to accept students from lower income families. Robert received a fellowship to the law school at the University of Wisconsin where he graduated with honors as well as a myriad awards for academic excellence. Barnes began practicing various forms of business, civil rights, and tax law.

Getting lawful representation

While Barnes was a law partner at The Bernhoft Law Firm, he also served as Wesley Snipes'tax defense lawyer. This was alongside the owner and managing partner, Robert Bernhoft. In the end Mr. Snipes was acquitted of tax fraud but he was still convicted of failure to file taxes. He founded Barnes Law LLP a criminal tax law firm that specializes in tax fraud, tax evasion, IRS Criminal Investigations, civil rights law, and business law. Barnes has also represented many high profile clients including Alex Jones, the Covington Kids, Joe Banister, Jerry Marchelletta and Joe Francis.
